More time for reading

Juggling home, career, parenting duties and wifely duties, I had little time to pursue any hobby, leave alone reading. But, one day, with the kids having gone for an excursion and my husband busy in his study, I leafed through a magazine and never knew when I shifted my weight from the couch to the hammock!

I lay there mesmerized for two hours, taking in every word, absorbed in the contents of the book. At the end of two hours, I felt satiated, suddenly young and free.
Since then, I’ve allocated a fixed time of two hours every Sunday, where I’d lie in my hammock reading to my heart’s content. I joined the local library. Reading was my number one passion as a child. Since when had I lost this passion? On the flip side, I no more have to compel my children aged 4 and 6 to read. They imitate me and see the wonder of colors and graphics as they sit down to read.
