Within the next few years, say by 2013, it will become technically and economically practical to mine landfills for several basic resources. Imagine how much aluminum, copper, gold, platnium, etc is currently buried in our trash. The density for many base materials runs substantially higher in landfills than it does in the earth. The amount of processing required for separated material from a landfill would be much less than that from a 'natural' source. ...
