There will be sex robots by 2025

THE STATUS QUO:
On the first decade (and even earlier) of the 21st Century, the Japanese have been trying to achieve fully functional humanoid robots. In 2010 there is already the technology to market Actroids - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actroid
On the west side of the World, in 2005, Abyss Creations started manufacturing silicon dolls specifically for sex. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealDoll

DEVELOPMENTS:
However, Actroids are made to mimic behavior or use preprogrammed actions, by 2010 they also can't autonomously walk. In the second decade, roboticists will be able to incorporate Boston Dynamics research into an humanoid robot able to walk on its own (material research will also be made to miniaturize some larger components).
AI will also progress, as will processing power, but the first sexbot will not pass the Turing Test or will it pass the Singularity (although it would be funny if the first real AI would be a sexbot).

THE PREDICTION:
By April 2025
- the first sexbot is made for the specific purpose of sex and companionship (this prediction won't turn true when the first general use autonomous humanoid robot is made)
- it will be able to walk autonomously
- will exibit basic natural language capabilities, i.e. it will talk and hear
- it does not pass the Turing Test (if it does all the better)
- its movements and expressions will be just beyond the Uncanny Valley (since the perception of the strangeness of a human-like being changes from person to person, this is really subjective)

BEYOND THE PREDICTION:
- after the first sexbot is made, feminist and religious movements will rise to crush its development
- People (first in Japan) will be able to marry robots
- There will be porn of sexbots
- The first male sexbot will be called Gigolo Joe
